M-Audio Teams with Red Bull to Present Beat Labs Electronic Music Workshops

M-Audio is saddling up to partner with Red Bull to produce Beat Labs, a series of workshops on college campuses nationwide that introduces students to the latest technology in electronic music production. Foregoing glitzy 6-foot long mixing consoles and complicated rigs, each Beat Labs studio will be set up with several computers outfitted with compact software and hardware like Propellerhead Reason and ReCycle, Ableton Live, and M-Audio’s Oxygen8, Radium61, BX5's, and Delta 1010LT.

Students accepted into the program will have 24-hour access to the Beat Labs, which will be set up in a space on or near a few select college campuses for a period of four weeks. Workshops with the Beat Labs crew (featuring producer, remixer and recording artist DJ Lorin) and special guests will take place over the course of the month and will be followed by a showcase jam session featuring the students involved and special guests.

Scheduled stops on the Beat Labs tour include:

• University of California at Berkeley
• University of San Francisio
• San Francisco State
